I'm from the border and identify as Mexican-American(Chicana), so naturally Oak Cliff made sense to me because I resonated so much with the culture and heart of the community. My mom is an esthetician, a single mother, and immigrant from Mexico who found upward mobility within the beauty industry. As a family we have so much gratitude towards the beauty industry because of the economic support it brought us in times of financial hardship. I would not have been able to access a college education, gain financial literacy, and build a business without the support of my mother through her career as an esthetician. Now I get to pay it forward by helping beauty professionals succeed!

At the beginning of the pandemic, I got furloughed from my corporate job and eventually let go. I saw an opportunity to start an organizing business which led to me helping out a salon. After helping this salon raise their productivity through organizational structure and by serving its beauticians I fell in love with the line of work. Shortly after reading the statistics that were coming out for Latina unemployment being an all-time high in 2021 I realized that I would eventually need to focus on Latina beauticians. Equipping and assisting them with the same tools I used to help the salon I worked for succeed. Having a background in retail management, project management, marketing, and now salon management, I knew it was time to reinvest my knowledge and expertise back into marginalized communities.
